After the reunion, we headed to the Black Hills of South Dakota and Mt. Rushmore. It had been 50 years since I was there last. We had a good time. It had changed a bit from what I remembered.
On our way out the next morning, we decided to stop in Deadwood on the way to Devil's Tower. They have a brand new museum there which is very nice.
We approached the Devils Tower National Monument (1st one) from the south and we could see it once we crested a ridge.
We took a short detour on our way back to Cheyenne and stopped by the historic Fort Laramie. It was a good history lesson.
We stayed at the Nagle Warren Mansion B&B built in 1888. It is right up the hill from the Cheyenne train depot. http://www.naglewarrenmansion.com/
